Event Poster

I had some spare time yesterday and decided to work on a event poster for VW Audi Club Norwegen’s annual fall event. I’m not really into design like this and this is my first poster so to speak. The first thing that amazed me was how time consuming it is – I spent the better part of an hour preparing the pictures and then double that time arranging them, making the leaves, (the event takes place in the fall, so see what i did there :p ) and finally choosing the font.

Now, this is mostly a draft as I still have to get the admission price and opening hours in there but those aren’t decided on yet so this’ll do for a while.
Thanks to Thomas for advice on the font Color :)

Oh and yeah. If you are into Volkswagens or Audi, clear that august weekend for anything else and come have a blast at Rudskogen Motorpark.

The Love Bug

At last weeks BugRun, held at Mantorp park in Sweden, one of the highlighs for both drivers and spectators was the traditional drag racing. Old or new, fast or slow the cars race each other for a quarter mile.  Now, the most die hard aircooled Volkswagen fans out there probably think about old Cal look legends like the “Inch Pincher” or the “Dyno-Soar” when racing and Beetles is mentioned.  But more known to the rest of us is probably Herbie, the white bug featured in several Disney motion pictures starting with the 1969 film The Love Bug.

Herbie is distinguished by red, white and blue racing stripes from front to back bumper and a racing-style number “53″ on the front hood, doors, and engine lid. So was this one cute little bug  hurtling down the drag strip at Mantorp.

The Love Bug

I felt like giving the picture a vintage look and although it could have been a bit brighter i feel it very much reminds me of the old Herbie movies I watched with great enthusiasm when I grew up.

And while we are on the subject of Cal look, beetles and drag racing – Be sure to check out the good folks at Scandinavian Cal Look Classic. Great guys, great event. Be there!

Featured on www.Broom.no

This week I had one of my photos bylining an article on www.broom.no

Featured, yay!

Click the picture for larger view.

The article is about Norways biggest brand related car club VW-Audi Club Norwegen where I currently have a position in the adminstration.
Broom is a new tv-show on TV2, Norway’s biggest commercial tv-network, about cars featuring Jan Erik Larssen as the shows host.

Jan Erik Larssen had great success with Autofil as a tv show on NRK (The Norwegian government-owned radio and television public broadcasting company).  Autofil also came out as a magazine through Aller Norge which is one of Norway’s leading media groups.

The picture was taken at an indoor car show held in in an expo hall in Lillestrøm by Gatebil which i also covered in this post.
Well, allthoug not all of them very exciting, there should be enough links in here to keep you occupied for a while, so I’ll leave you to it…

Packed And Ready

This weekend will be spent at Mantorp Park in Sweden where Scandinavias biggest Volkswagen Show takes place.  The show is on it’s 26th year and I’m going for the 4th time.

BugRun started out as a show for aircooled Beetles but these days  all Volkswagens are welcome. Still the majority of cars there is old Aircooled stuff which makes for great photos.
So, I gathered up some gear and what’s left before I go is to put the cameras in the bag and get a couple hours of shuteye before we set out on our 500 km trip there tomorrow morning.

Gear for next trip

Never mind the poor quality of the picture. I had to blow the dust of an old point and shoot I had lying around to make sure I got all the DSLR’s in the same frame ;)

AndWhyNot

You might have noticed the heading being written without spaces, and seeing as I mention it here you’re probably able to figure out that it isn’t by mistake.

AndWhyNot, or Andrew as I believe he goes by when he’s not on flickr is one of my many talented contacts there.
Andrew likes to paint with light and when he posted the picture below I knew I had to make a small post about it.

..but I wasn't on my own

I’ve seen Andrew draw figures like these before, but this one really caught my eye and put a big smile on my face :D

In addition to taking pictures like this one Andrew is a talented photographer of weddings, parties and other events. Most of the stuff in his flickr photostream is Straight out of Camera which is really impressive.  Be sure to check out his photos!

Catching up

Before I went to Austria for the Wörthersee-treffen I really had tons of pictures to go through from various shoots. Add the twelve hundred and something pictures I took in Austria and you can imagine I’ve spent some time at the computer post processing pictures the last week.
But I’m finally up to date, including processing the pictures I took at a shoot yesterday. Yay for me!

The pictures from Austria came out mostly looking like snapshots, which they also were, so I won’t bother you with them here. For those of you who are really interested you can visit this link and have a look. Once there you’ll find some of the pictures and a travel log of sorts. Unfortunately, it’s in Norwegian but oh well.

To round up this post, here is a picture from the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt, Germany that I snapped on our way home from Austria.
