Audi A5 3.0 Quattro

I’ve been meaning to shoot this car for quite some time now. I manage to squeeze in a couple of shots of it at the trackday mentioned a couple of posts ago, but never got around to do a full shoot with it.

When the calendar opportunity came up the owner and I made a deal to do a proper shoot to see if it could get accepted there.

Below are two of the shots that wont be purposed to the calendar :)

A5 3.0 tdi quattro

A5 3.0 Tdi Quattro

The top one is shot with two flashes in reflective umbrellas either side of the car while the bottom one was a 8 second exposure with natural light only.
Both photos can be viewed in higher resolution on flick by clicking them.

2010 Calendar

I’m sorry for most of this post beeing in Norwegian, but that’s how it needs to be. The guys behind Wolfsgruppe.com has launched a very exciting project, a 2010 calendar. The calendar is a completely new project in the veedub world. The goal is to get 12 of the world’s best vag photographers take 12 top quality photos of 12 of the world’s top class vags and publish them in a limited edition calendar.

So far several of the worlds greatest vdub photographers like Mike Kippen, Steven Campbel, Oliver Verheij and Kristopher Clewell to name e few is in on the project. Yours truly has also been invited to contribute and I need the help from fellow norwegian dubbers to find cars to shoot.

Kalender

Successful Sciroccos

After shooting the 4 Sciroccos earlier this year I’ve had a huge amount of traffic on the two posts I made about it. I’ve had people contacting me asking to use the pictures for stuff like a new logo, just like Scirocconet.co.uk did. Stuff like that is really nice and for the most part we work stuff out with little or no effort.

A UK store called Niche Conversions did however not ask to use my pictures… But did anyway… I’ve sent them a bill according to what I usually charge, but of course they have not replied. So if anyone in the UK could help me out with some advice on this matter I’d really appreciate it.

Anyways, here’s another Scirocco shot for you guys to enjoy. (everybody but the folks behind Niche Conversions of course ;) )

Chevy Again

Just a quick post to say hello and tell you I’ve been super busy and show you another picture of the Classic  ’55 210 Chevy I shot last month.

chevy (1 of 1)

I wish I had my Skyports for that shoot, because everything is so much easier with them. My lighting improved the moment I started using them, and together with some new studio gear that I bought the other day lighting cars is suddenly “easy”. Looking forward to showing you some more shots with taken with the Skyports and stuff, but I have to wait until the pictures are published first.

Anyways, the client picked up his Chevy shots today and was really pleased, and I hope you liked them too.

Cheers.

Finally, Skyports!

Strobist SuitcaseLast week I finally got my Skyports. I had been waiting for the supplier I use to get both the Set with both transmitter and receiver and the separate receiver  in stock I decided I couldn’t wait any longer and bought two sets with transmitter and receivers.

I even got myself a dedicated Suitcase for all my Strobist gear . Still need to cut out some more room for the rest of the stuff, but I wanted to share anyways :) The china triggers have no cutout as they just double as hotshoe mounts at the moment. New stuff is on it’s way from FlashZebra and should arrive sometime next week.

With the weather being bad and heavy  rain pouring down every night since I got the Skyports I got the chance to test them yesterday. I was out shooting the launch of the new Polo for Treffpunkt magazine and VW Audi Club Norwegen, and stopped on my my way home to test the Skyports. Not having any pictures of my own car since I  lowered it another inch i decided to take it to a location I had scouted several weeks ago.  Normally i wouldn’t “waste” a good location on my own car, but I’m glad I took it there, because although I thought the location looked cool from a distance, it just wasn’t that exciting when I got there..

MkV Golf

Although not quite pleased with the location I went to was delighted with how well the Skyports worked. The range is greater than can see my self needing any time soon and the best part; -they fire the flashes every single time! After struggling with the unreliable china-triggers I can now focus on getting the lighting right, not just getting the lighting to light. The picture is available in higher resolution on flickr.
